Witcher 3 Dimeritium Plate | Where to find and buy

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 Dimeritium Plate is a crafting component that can be used to make a handful of different kinds of Grandmaster Armor. Unfortunately, knowing where to find and buy Dimeritium can be a tricky task, as it isn’t straight forward. So, we’ve put together a quick guide to make the process of finding and buying Dimeritium much easier..

Where to Find Dimeritium Plates in Witcher 3

Witcher 3 Dimeritium Plate

Dimeritium Plates can be bought, crafted, purchased, or looted in The Witcher 3. Since’s it’s a rare and expensive item, you might not have enough Crowns lying around to spend on the relic, so your best bet is going to be to either craft or loot a Dimeritium Plate.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a reliable location in the game to find Dimeritium Plates. The best method to naturally find plates is to loot dead bodies and search chests. Thankfully, if this doesn’t work, there are also some other ways to find them.

Perhaps the easiest, and cheapest, way to find Dimeritium Plates in Witcher 3 is to craft them using Dimeritium Ingot. Players can use two of the Ingots to craft a Plate by going into the crafting menu and navigating to the “Crafting Components” tab.

If you find yourself lacking Dimeritium Ingot, it can be looted from dead bodies and chests or earned by dismantling weapons. Further, depending on where you are in the game, you can also get the Ingot (and sometimes Plates) by completing various quests.

Finally, if you’re really in a bind, you can also use Dimeritium Ore and Glowing Ore Ingots to craft Dimeritium Ingots, which can then be used to craft Dimeritium Plates. Confused yet?

Where to Buy Dimeritium Plates in Witcher 3

If you’ve got a handful of spare coin lying around, then the easiest way to get Dimeritium Plates in Witcher 3 is simply to buy them. While they are expensive, if you only need a few of them, and don’t have the materials needed to craft some, then it might be well worth your time to just buy a few.

However, it is worth nothing that purchasing Dimeritium in the Witcher 3 is rather expensive and will drain you store of Crowns pretty quickly. If you’re looking to buy Ingots, they’ll cost around 2,000 Crowns each, while a plate will cost around 4,000 Crowns a piece.

If you’ve got the budget, you can buy various types of Dimeritium from most Journeymen, Master Blacksmiths, and Master Armorers. However, these merchants don’t always carry Dimeritium, so you may come up empty.

If that’s the case, you can visit the merchant in Kaer Trolde, who will always have five Dimeritium Ingots on hand. You can find the merchant located in the building west of the Kaer Trolde Harbor sign on the map.

Now that you know where to find and buy The Witcher 3 Dimeritium Plate, hopefully you’ll be able to craft some of that sweet Grandmaster armor.
