The Age of Empires III Definitive Edition was released in October of 2020. Since then, Tantalus Media has helped to keep the game fresh by adding expansion packs. In April of 2021, the United States pack was added. And in August of this year, the African Royals expansion dropped.

Come December 1st, gamers will have yet another level to play. Xbox Game Studios has announced a new Mexico civilization.

Sirus Gaming reports:

“This new civilization actually has a new mechanic called Revolt instead of advancing to the Fortress, Industrial or Imperial Ages. By Revolting, players can get a whole new deck full of opportunities. Mexico can also reverse their revolts and return to the regular state, while still retaining access to those cards that got sent during the revolution. It also adds a new set of Federal States in order to evolve gameplay.”

There are other added benefits to the release as well. Gamers will get a scenario exclusive to the Mexico DLC called Grito de Dolores. All Age of Empires III players who have the United States expansion pack will receive the Burning of USS Philadelphia historical battle regardless of whether they opt for the Mexico DLC.

Starting on December 31st, there will also be a 31 day challenge where players can earn unique skins.

Age of Empires III The Definitive Edition is available on PC
