According to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre Is Cutting New Music for the Latest Grand Theft Auto Game

There are a number of factors that have to do with the success of a game. But more and more, the soundtrack behind the game is becoming an important one.

Many times this music is orchestral and there are no words. But other times, popular songs are used. Madden Football games frequently featured the hit songs of the day. And, of course, Guitar Hero allowed users to play along with famous rock songs.

Grand Theft Auto has long been one of the grittiest games on the shelf. As a result Rockstar Games has often worked with some of the grittiest artists in music to fit the feel of the game.

For the latest game, Rockstar has reached out to one of the biggest gangster rappers of all time. According to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre is working on the music.

Snoop said during an interview with Rolling Stone:

“I do know [Dr. Dre] is in the studio… I do know he’s making great f***ing music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.”

Dr. Dre, of course, was a long-time mentor to Snoop Dogg, making him a superstar with by collaborating with him on the chronic. And Snoop is also a keen gamer who regularly streams his games of Madden Football on Twitch.
