Banjo-Kazooie, which is one of the greatest games of all time in my humble opinion, will be available for Nintendo Switch Online this January.

Developed by Rare and originally released in 1998, Banjo-Kazooie is a platforming masterpiece. Staring Banjo, who made his debut in Diddy Kong Racing, and his best friend Kazooie, players are tasked with collecting everything imaginable. Puzzle pieces, music notes, eggs, feathers, little colored creatures, you name it.

An interesting note is a fact that Nintendo, who published the original Banjo-Kazooie, no longer owns the IP. Banjo is a Microsoft franchise now, but the company has had no qualms working with Nintendo in the past. In addition to Banjo-Kazooie’s appearance in Smash, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a game originally published by Microsoft, fully released for Nintendo Switch.

When the original announcement was made about Banjo-Kazooie’s future including, the former developer was ready to help people eat crow.

Banjo-Kazooie has been available in a multitude of ways on Xbox platforms, but we’re excited to play it on a Nintendo console once again.

There is no word on whether or not its sequel, Banjo-Tooie, will make an appearance in the future for Nintendo Switch Online.
