Best Xbox Exclusives – We Review the Top Ten

While Xbox has struggled recently, there are still plenty of excellent Xbox exclusive games to play. In addition, thanks to Game Pass, fans have had access to more games than ever before.

We’re going to detail ten of Xbox’s best games. Microsoft has been treating consoles and PC equally these days. So while the listed titles aren’t exclusively on Xbox, they are console exclusive. You won’t be able to play these games on Nintendo Switch or PS5!

At the time of writing, some games like Tunic and Ori made their way to other systems. Therefore, they won’t be included in our list.

Presenting the ten best Xbox exclusives you can play today.

With all due respect to Halo Infinite, it may not be the best Halo game you can currently play. To be fair to Infinite, competing with some of the best FPS shooters of all time isn’t fair.

It may have been a rough start for the Master Chief Collection, but the game has rounded out nicely. So if you’re looking for a good time playing Halo, look no further.

Honestly, you could put any Forza Horizon or Forza Motorsport on this list. While the more recently released Forza Horizon 5 is a masterpiece, we think Horizon 4 is the best in the series.

Horizon 4’s ability to offer ever-changing gameplay with the transition of seasons helps keep things fresh. Add beautiful environments and addictive racing, and it’s a home run.

Forza continues to be the gold standard for racing games. Each release is proving to be a must play title.

Immortality Is a Work of Art

One of the best games of the year, Immortality is an actual work of art. Sam Barlow, best known for Her Story, delivers another masterpiece.

In our review, we said Immortality sets the bar for interactive cinema. “Combining story, set design, acting, music, direction, and costuming into a cohesive amalgamation of each art is a high art form. Immortality takes all these elements of cinema and adds a truly unique interactive experience to it.”

Few games have seen the amount of post-launch support that Sea of Thieves has. After a lackluster release, Microsoft and Rare have fostered a wonderful community for the game. Since its 2018 launch, Sea of Thieves has expanded on its pirate sandbox design.

From searching for treasure, sailing the high seas, or relaxing with your friends, Sea of Thieves offers a little something for everyone. It calls to the pirate inside every one of us. Will you answer the call?

It was a long time coming, but Psychonauts 2 is worth the wait. Double Fine delivers a psychological platforming treat.

Despite 16 years between releases, Psychonauts 2 successfully builds upon the foundation of the original. The originality and innovation you’d expect from a Double Fine game are there. On top of it is a refinement of the original’s platforming and control issues.

The strength of Psychonauts 2 has us ready for another game in the franchise. Hopefully, it won’t take 16 years this time.

If you’re a fan of Rick and Morty and love video games, you’re in luck. The colorful, offbeat shooter is currently taking Game Pass by storm. High on Life comes from Justin Roiland and has the style of humor you’d expect.

There are many nifty easter eggs in the game as well. Enjoyable shooting is the icing on this cake. It’s not for everyone, but those that are a fan of Roiland’s style will undoubtedly love the game.

We’ve reached another contemplation on our list of the best Xbox exclusives. Rare Replay features most of the games from the legendary developer.

Certain games like GoldenEye 007 and Donkey Kong 64 aren’t included. Having said that, there is still an insane amount of value. Other beloved Nintendo 64 games like Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and Perfect Dark are here. Cult classics such as Blast Corps, Battletoads, and Viva Pinata are here, too.

The amount of bang for your buck in Rare Replay is super impressive. So it’s a no-brainer for our list of the best Xbox exclusives.

The original Gears of War trilogy ranks among the best Xbox 360 games. Developer The Coalition took over from Epic Games with Gears of War 4 and Gears 5. While Gears of War 4 felt more like a Greatest Hits compilation, Gears 5 is a refinement.

Everything is on point from the gameplay and presentation to the writing and character development. It’s not going to reinvent the wheel, but it arguably doesn’t have to either. Gears 5 proves that the franchise still has staying power and can deliver a quality exclusive for team Xbox.

Pentiment Is a Unique Narrative-driven Experience

Pentiment is the newest game on our list of best Xbox exclusives. It is developed by Obsidian Entertainment and directed by Josh Sawyer.

A narrative-driven adventure RPG, Pentiment’s strength lies within its writing. Combat and action aren’t the focus here; your enjoyment comes from the choices you have to make while interacting with the world around you. The themes and story are all on point. It results in one of the most thought-provoking games of the year.
