Gamers have eagerly been awaiting the release of Vanguard: Call of Duty. While some have been lucky enough to start playing already, the game will be fully released along with all platforms in early December.

Attack on Titan has been one of the world’s most popular manga series’ since its debut in 2009. In 2019, the Hajime Isamaya written title became the best-selling manga title of all time.

So it would be a natural fit for Call of Duty to work some kind of crossover with Attack on Titan. According to a dataminer named Nanikos, something like that may be in the works.

Nanikos tweeted on Sunday, “Been quite a few things found in memory dumps for vanguard. The most interesting one being a mention of a ‘swordtitan’ aswell as an ‘aot_titan’ operator. The theory is that there’ll be an Attack On Titan crossover for vanguard. (Probably sometime december if that is the case).”

The timing would make sense for both titles. Funimation, where the Attack on Titan manga airs, recently announced, “Attack on Titan The Final Season Episode 76 ‘Condemnation’ Broadcast on NHK General TV in January 2022! Before the new broadcast, a special omnibus that looks back on the advance will also be broadcast as an original animation (OAD) that is talked about from the perspectives of Levi, Ani, Mikasa, etc.!”

Still, when it comes to massive crossovers like this, it is best to have a little bit of skepticism. And some within the industry are taking that exact tack.
