Can You Tame Bugs in Grounded?

Grounded Tame Bugs

As you may know by now, in Grounded your main enemies are going to be a variety of insects and bugs like beetles, ladybugs, and spiders. While they can often end your life before you even know you’re being attacked, some players are beginning to wonder if it is possible to tame bugs in Grounded. After all, exploring the backyard would be much easier if you could do it while riding or flying on the back of a ladybug.

Can Bugs Be Tamed in Grounded?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, players cannot tame bugs in Grounded. However, developers have mentioned in the past that this is a feature they are looking at adding in the future. Speaking to ShackNews at Pax East earlier this year, Obsidian developers hinted at an upcoming bug taming feature but didn’t make any promises.

So even though we don’t have official confirmation of the feature quite yet, it’s nice to know that developers are interested in making it happen. Further, since the game is still in Early Access, it seems like a possibility.

However, for now, you’ll have to stick to trying to avoid bugs at all costs or taking them on from a distance with a storm of arrows. If you’ve been exploring, especially early on, you’ll know that it doesn’t take much for a big bug to kill you. If a feature does get added that allows you to tame bugs, it’d be pretty fun to ride around with an army of ants or fly through the sky on the back of a ladybug. But for now, we’ll have to keep dreaming.

While you’re waiting for the ability to tame bugs, be sure to check out some of our Grounded guides in the list below that will help you out as you begin exploring the great unknown.

Good luck and be sure to avoid those spiders!
