It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally here. Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 with a release in early 2022.
The news was announced in a press release from CJ Projekt discussing their third-quarter results from 2021.
We are hard at work on the next-gen version of Cyberpunk, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022, alongside another major update for all platforms. There is also ongoing work on the next-gen version of The Wicher 3 and the Cyberpunk expansion. IN parallel, we carry on with the transformation of our studio, which is affecting more and more production teams.

The press release also announces new projects in the pipeline for the developer at new studios.
Both Digital Scapes (now CD Projekt Red Vancouver) and The Molasses Flood are integrated into the studio family. Molasses Flood is working on “a separate game based on one of CD Projekt’s IPs.”
News of Cyberpunk 2077 updates follow the story that the polish developer wishes to remain independent. That interview also confirmed that we’ve seen the last update for Cyberpunk 2077 this year.
We now know what’s on the horizon for Cyberpunk 2077. Once we get more confirmations regarding both a release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, as well as the first expansion, we’ll be sure to let you know.
