Does Cyberpunk 2077 Have Cross-Progression?

Cyberpunk 2077 cross-progression

Cyberpunk 2077 has finally made its long-awaited and much-delayed arrival to the screens of many gamers. Its release, due to its numerous delays, has come soon after the arrival of next-gen consoles, as well as on the upcoming holiday season. This unique combination of factors is going to lead to a lot of copies of Cyberpunk 2077 being sold on both the eighth and ninth generation of consoles, as well as on PC. With that being said, will there be cross-progression for Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 | Is There Cross-Progression?

The short answer is yes, there is a level of cross-progression for Cyberpunk 2077 but there is a catch. Player’s will only be able to bring their saves to different consoles in the same family. This means that you can only bring saves from your Xbox One on to an Xbox series X or S. The same goes for the Playstation 4 and 5. So if you are getting a new console and want to keep your saves, try to keep it in the family.

This also means that PC players will not be able to bring their saved data onto any consoles or vice versa.

Cross-Progression is the ability to bring saves from one platform onto another. In recent years we’ve seen the rise of cross-platform play, mainly when it comes to shooters but cross-progression is something that could become very important to Cyberpunk 2077 players.

Since the game is single-player, you can’t just bring your account to a new platform and have all your saves and information there. Combine that with the fact that some of the luckier gamers among us might be getting new consoles this holiday season and cross-progression becomes important for players that don’t want to start their journey in Night City as V all over when they upgrade systems.

Currently, next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 is not out, so players who want to play it on new consoles will be able to, but it will be done through cross-progression.
