Dreams offers players the opportunity to try their hand at game development with tons of cool creative features. One core element of the game is the motion controls, which are automatically enabled at the start of the game. While the game is designed with these movement controls in mind, you might find yourself wanting to turn motion controls off. So, here is how to turn off and disable the Dreams PS4 motion controls.
How to Turn Off Dreams Motion Controls on PlayStation 4
Dreams allows players to control their Imp by using the DualShock 4 as a motion controller. However, if you’d like to disable and turn off the motion controls, you can do so by following the five quick steps below.
- Press “Options” on your DualShock controller
- Navigate to “My Preferences” in the top right corner of the screen
- Select the “Controls” and “Control Screen” tabs
- Select “Left and Right Sticks”
- Back out and you’ll have disabled motion controls
If you change your mind later, you can re-enable motion controls by heading back to the same menu and selecting “Sensor Function.”
Turning off the Dreams PS4 motion controls wasn’t an option while the game was in Early Access, despite requests from players. So if you stopped playing because you were tired of moving your controller around, you might want to hop back in now that you can turn motion controls off and on.
In my experience with Dreams, I’ve found the motion controls to be rather enjoyable as I begin to get the hand of it. However, some players have reported that as you make your way through the main story, it’d be best to use the analog controllers instead of the motion controls.
At the end of the day, the decision is up to you. Thankfully, in the name of accessibility, Media Molecule has added the long-requested feature to the game so that players can enjoy the experience in a way that is convenient to them.
