Fan-Made Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Lets You Deflect Bullets

Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Lets You Deflect Bullets

When it comes to hype trains derailing, none were quite as spectacular as Cyberpunk 2077. Still, there may be hope for it yet. Since release, some players have taken it upon themselves to fix the game. One player has created a detailed mod that adds a whole new mechanic allowing you to deflect bullets. Though the player character can be quite powerful in their own right, its abilities like these were sorely missing from what Cyberpunk 2077 was building itself up to be.

After the overwhelming success of The Witcher series, the developers at CD Projekt Red decided to take on the sci-fi genre with their original title, Cyberpunk 2077. Despite the incredible build-up, the game crashed in more ways than one when it finally came out. The devs have since been trying to fix the game with various patches and updates, but the damage was done. Still, the players themselves have been the most active in working hard to make the game more fun. One player known as TeslaCoiled has created the “Time Dilation Overhaul” (TDO) to significantly change the combat. When active, players get the ability to use a katana to deflect bullets as they fly towards them.

Taking place in a futuristic city, Cyberpunk 2077 is quite different from The Witcher. Not only are players able to create a customizable character, but they also explore a cross between a cyberpunk city and an apocalyptic wasteland. Their main quest involves pursuing what may be a piece of technology that holds the key to immortality. It also gives players a number of weapons and abilities as a result of cybernetic enhancements. However, combat was considered one of the more tedious aspects, which is why players have worked hard to fix it.

Cyberpunk 2077 still has a long way to go on the road to redemption with players laying down the tiles. If more people like TeslaCoiled keep making mods at the same level of TDO, more people may finally take a look at the game.
