Far Cry 6 Wingsuit | How to Unlock and Use

Far Cry 6 Wingsuit

Far Cry 6 sometimes seems like an overwhelmingly massive game. Yara is no slouch in Ubisoft’s ever-growing open-world catalog. It has many different environments to explore, and sometimes horseback isn’t going to be fast enough. Thankfully, there are many ways to get around Yara without flying headfirst into anti-air guns. The Wingsuit of Far Cry 6 is one of the best ways to travel in the mid-game, before you’ve cleared the guns. But, how do you get it? And how useful is it?

How to Unlock the Wingsuit in Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 Wingsuit

In order to unlock the Wingsuit in Far Cry 6, you must first unlock camp building by reaching the base of the Montero Family, Legends of ’67, or Maximas Mantazas. When you build a camp, create the Hideout Network, and you’ll be able to use the personal flying gear. Thankfully, the suit is always equipped to you, and you can use it by pressing the left stick (or shift, on Keyboard).

Making the Hideout Network is a pretty good idea in general. In addition to the Wingsuit, this will unlock fast travel for any areas that you have cleared out which aren’t in range of anti-air guns. Great mobility options, and fantastic timesavers! Worth getting right away almost all of the time.

As for how to use the wingsuit, that’s easy. The suit’s prompt will show up after you’ve been falling for a short while. Press the button to start a glide, which you can control by looking in the correct direction and turning like normal. The controls are inverted for vertical movement – down will make you turn toward the sky, and up will have you nose-dive.

The distance you can achieve will depend on your height. So if you want to go cross-country, make sure the mountain you jump off of is big! This has good enough horizontal movement to travel a fair distance even without immense height. And no, you thankfully will not get shot down by anti-air… From what we’ve seen, at least!
