Fire Emblem Engage | What Do Birthdays Do?

How to Use the Fortune Teller in Fire Emblem Engage

Life isn’t the same without friends to share it with. That’s why doing the little things for our friends, such as remembering and doing something special on their birthday, goes a long way. This also applies to Fire Emblem Engage. That’s why when you first start the game, it asks to input your birthday. So, why are birthdays so important in the game, and what exactly do they do? Read on to find out.

What Do Birthdays Do in Fire Emblem Engage?

What Do Birthdays Do in Fire Emblem Engage?

Just as we do in real life, characters in Fire Emblem Engage will give you a gift on your birthday to celebrate your special day. When it’s your birthday in the game, you’ll want to do your rounds and talk to all your team members to claim the present they have for you. Because this is essentially free loot, many players set their birthdays a week or two from the day they start playing to reap the rewards right away. However, don’t set it too early, or you won’t have met all the characters yet, meaning you won’t get as many gifts.

Oddly enough, you can also re-gift the presents you got to strengthen your bond with characters; another reason players set their birthdays about a week or so after they start. However, birthdays are a two-way street. Just as you want your friends to remember yours, they expect you to do the same for them. When another character’s birthday comes around, you should give them a gift to show your appreciation, which will spark a special conversation and also benefit you by increasing your affinity with them.

You can find out the birthdays of each character by checking their profiles. Now, there are a lot of them to keep track of, so much so it can get overwhelmingly. However, it is well worth noting these dates because the benefits of giving gifts on their special days will reward you in the long run. Not to mention it shows that you care, even if it is a video game we’re talking about.
