First Diablo 4 Level 100 Hardcore Mode Player Just Lost Everything

Diablo 4 has made a huge impact after finally coming out and being swarmed by all sorts of players. Some have already done everything that the game has had to offer and achieved some very impressive feats, but one, in particular, has fallen hard. The first player to reach level 100 in Diablo 4’s brutal hardcore mode has just lost their character and progress in a most unfortunate way. Professional players will spend days, weeks, months, and even years grinding to achieve, and nothing hurts more than having it ripped away by something that the player can’t control.

Level 100 Hardcore Diablo 4 Player loses due to connectivity

In 2013, the arguably polarizing Diablo 3 appeared on the scene, and the series didn’t continue until Diablo Immortal launched in 2022 and Diablo 4 landed recently this year. Despite reception, Diablo 4 has been performing well since its release, with player cArn being the first to reach level 100 in Hardcore Mode.

However, the player suffered a massive defeat when his game disconnected and effectively killed his Barbarian character. The rules of Hardcore Mode make the game exceptionally harder and apply Permadeath, which causes players to lose everything if they die just once.

The loss came at a most inopportune time as well. While streaming, cArn was taking the lead in a race among other professional players to reach level 100 and clear Hardcore Mode first. After reaching the milestone, he prepare to take on the toughest boss in the game, and achieving a victory would solidify his accomplishment.

It was a massive grind, with cArn sinking over 82 hours into this challenge, but he and his viewers were surprised and shocked when his screen suddenly cut to black. When the game loaded back up, he found himself at the character creation screen since the disconnect counted as a death.

Though cArn expressed sadness at what had happened, he appears determined to keep going. While it may be possible to somehow restore his lost progress, it doesn’t change the fact that disconnecting at level 100 in Diablo 4 is one of the worst ways to lose.
