The best Fortnite skins don’t come around very often, and they’re not always free. That’s why many players have their eyes set on the new Chrome Punk Skin which is easily one of the best free skins in the game. The catch is that, while you don’t have to pay for it, you do have to grind some account levels to unlock it. Furthermore, grinding these levels is time-sensitive as the skin is only up for grabs for a certain period of time. Nonetheless, in this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Chrome Punk Skin, before it’s no longer attainable.
How to Get the Chrome Punk Skin in Fortnite
To get the Chrome Punk Skin in Fortnite, you need to earn 50 account levels between now and January 1, 2023. However, you must log into Fortnite between now and November 15, 2022, in order to activate and unlock the Chrome Punk Goals. Then, you have until January 1, 2023, to complete their challenges and unlock the skin itself. If you wait to log in after November 15, you will not unlock or be able to work towards these goals, even while the event is still active.
You can find the Chrome Punk Goals by going to “Quest” from the lobby and down to Chrome Punk. Then you’ll see you need to “Earn 50 account levels” in order to unlock the Chrome Punk Skin. Essentially, to earn account levels, you need to earn battle pass levels. It does not matter if this is the paid or free battle pass. While the battle pass will reset between now and January 1, 2023, your account level will not.
So, in essence, you should play the game as much as possible because almost everything you do in the game, from killing and looting chests to placing higher in a match, will give you battle pass XP. You can, however, grind the battle pass quests to gain battle pass XP faster. Regardless, if you want the Chrome Punk Skin, you’ll need to grind 50 account levels. This is equivalent to 50 battle pass levels, which you need to earn between now and January 1, 2023.
