Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC - How to Start

The Horizon Hot Wheels Park has finally arrived in Mexico for Forza Horizon 5! In this new expansion, drivers are taken in the air to a Hot Wheels race track. Players are invited to create their own tracks, collect 10 new cars, and go past 300 mph with the energetic festival. So, how exactly do you start up the Hot Wheels DLC? It’s fairly straightforward, and we’ll show you what to do.

How to Start the Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC

The Hot Wheels DLC should begin as soon as you jump back into the game. The starting area is located northwest of the El Estadio Horizon site, roughly near the middle of the map. Your friend Haley will invite you to the expedition to get things going, but that’s only once you have the DLC installed. If you do, you’ll be prompted to the location on the map to commence your next journey. If not, you’ll boot up Forza Horizon 5 as usual. Check your Xbox Library and/or Games and Apps, depending on whether you’re playing on PC or Xbox. This should also work if you’re playing via the Game Pass. As long as the DLC is tied to your account, the content will be applied.

After the initial expedition from Mexico and into the Horizon Hot Wheels Park, you’ll have complete freedom to explore the orange tracks. The new tracks come with accessible goodies to generate that turbo drive, such as magnetic tracks, slippery slopes, and high-powered fans. While you make your way up through the ranks after achieving rookie status, the DLC also comes with Stories. Instead of focusing on a character, you’ll play through five tracks while learning the history of Hot Wheels. You’ll get to learn about Elliot Handler, the diecasts, and the legacy of the franchise. This is where you can unlock a good chunk of the new cars by completing them, as well.

How to Return to Horizon Hot Wheels Park

Finally, if you’re ready to go back to land, there are a couple of ways to leave for Mexico. You can go back by either driving to the far southwest corner of the Hot Wheels map to The Ice Cauldron and stopping by the “Mexico!” icon. Alternatively, you can simply go to the menu for the Campaign tab and then select to go back to Mexico. You’ll be on the ground again in no time. And the same easily goes for the Horizon Hot Wheels Park: go to the Hot Wheels tab in the menu then select to travel to the aforesaid park. You won’t have to drive back to the original expedition site for this. Although, to be fair, using the launcher is probably one of the coolest things to experience in the game.
