Halo Infinite is starting to rev up, and players are impressed with the graphics and the love that the game oozes for the franchise. From energy sword one-shots to the new grappling system, Infinite promises to increase the pace while keeping the themes that players love so much. However, there are still some archaic mysteries that the game doesn’t explain much about. Weapon names are definitely one of them! The M247 HMG is not a standard weapon in Halo Infinite. But, if that’s the case, where do you get one?
How to Get the M247 HMG in Halo Infinite
In order to get and use the M247 HMG in Halo Infinite, you must climb on the back of a Warthog or find the mounted turrets scattered across maps. The HMG is the mounted gun in the back of these vehicles or on the turrets. The Warthog guns offer better mobility, but will require you to have a driver to make good use of them. The mounted turrets can be detached so you can walk around with them, but you’ll leave yourself wide open to attack.
Don’t worry, though. The M247 HMG is a big weapon, and will take out enemies instantly. This is good, since the weekly challenge associated with the M247 is to kill a single enemy. This is pretty easy once you get your hands on the gun, but might be hard to do if you get killed while picking it up. Warthogs make this much easier, since you’ll be driving around and harder to hit.
However, there is a problem. The HMG is not on every map in the game. It can be a bit frustrating to locate. You’ll want to find larger maps to increase your chance of locating this heavy armament. Specifically, you’ll find quite a few turrets and Warthogs on Behemoth, Deadlock, Fragmentation, and Highpower. These serve as your best chance to get this gun.
