The Mario Strikers franchise was always a personal favorite of mine. Imagine my surprise when Nintendo announced Mario Strikers: Battle League during today’s Nintendo Direct!
The same gameplay we all expect from the Strikers franchise is back, with added support for online play. The big-ticket item for Mario Strikers: Battle League is creating your own club online. Clubs support cooperative play as well. Individual matches support up to 8-players for multiplayer.
How will it compare to recent Mario sports games? Only time will tell. While enjoyable, there’s been a disappointing trend. Content has been lacking in games like Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Golf: Super Rush.
