Netflix has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a mail-in DVD rental service. The company has now created an empire that not only streams some of the biggest shows and movies but also creates their own.

In a recent effort to expand, Netflix created a mobile gaming department. People who use the Netflix App on their Android or iOS devices will have access to these games. And to help grow the department, the company has hired Amir Rahimi.

Rahimi is a gaming veteran who had previously been the president of mobile games publisher Scopely. He will be working under Mike Verdu who serves as the vice president of games at Netflix.

Verdu said in a statement, “I am pleased to welcome Amir to Netflix where he will build out our games studio team and content library for Netflix Games. His extensive experience in the games industry will be key as we look to grow our catalog of games for our members around the world to enjoy.”

As of now, the current Netflix games are mostly built around Stranger Things. Users of the platform can currently play Stranger Things 1984, Stranger Things 3 or Shooting Hoops, among others. A new Stranger Things game will debut in 2022.

And with Rahimi now on board, you can expect the games library to expand rapidly.
