Amazon’s newest New World update brings with it much-needed bug fixes, information regarding the company’s recent bans procedures, and the starting foundation for upcoming character transfers.

As you may recall, New World recently came under fire for what some users believed were targeted campaigns by some groups to have players banned. A community manager for the game stepped in during that rumor and said the company uses human moderation and not bots to determine player bans.

The new update has this to say about player bans:

“Fixed an issue causing players kicked, suspended, banned, or removed from the game by Easy Anti-Cheat to receive unclear communication. Additional messaging has been added so players can better understand the penalty they received.”

Amazon has also released a new rate of influence which reduces influence gain for attacking factions. Defending factions will also no longer be subject to a decrease in their influence gain.

The influence change is a correction to a previous bug that caused player influence to jump too quickly.

Amazon has also made changes to ensure players no longer respawn as a corpse.

Storage settlement and loot gain balancing are also improved in the newest update. The loot update is designed to create a better variety of loot while balancing quantity.

It’s not clear what Amazon Game Studios has completed in terms of character transfers but that feature is expected to arrive soon and any updates to the character transfer protocol are a good sign.
