Alright, now that you’re properly equipped for the Mora boss battle, you’ll need some tips to survive all four stages. Thankfully, there is a save point after you make it through the second part of the fight, which makes things a lot more manageable.

Mora Boss Fight | Stage 1

Stage 1 is perhaps the easiest in the fight, as you’ll only need to worry about Mora’s stomps. We suggest moving from wall to wall, jumping over Mora as needed. Once you’re on the wall, she will charge and stomp at you in front of the wall. When she does that, simply jump over her, hit her a couple of times with your Spirit Edge ability, then dash to the other wall.

One she comes to the other wall and tries to stomp you (she won’t hit you on the wall, usually), jump over her, hit her in the head a few times, and dash back to the other wall. If you happen to get hit, you’ll have a few seconds while transitioning to recharge, just make sure you don’t stand too close.

Simply rinse and repeat this method. Further, if you turn on your Flash ability, it’ll do a small amount of damage to Mora every time she gets close.

Mora Boss Fight | Stage 2

Once you’ve knocked Mora’s health down to about 75%, you’ll begin the second stage. As a fair warning, this one is tough, and if you die, you’ll have to repeat the first stage. In this stage, Mora will shoot her acid balls at you, summon spiders, and a few other things. The most annoying part about this stage is the spiders that will attack you.

As a rule of thumb, you always need to be aware of where the spiders are because one hit from them could kill you. The strategy in Phase 2 is simply to stay off the ground as much as possible and avoid the spiders. You can use the hanging blue gem to shoot yourself in the air by pressing LB (XB1), which should help you move around quickly.

Further, you’re want to use the __ ability when Mora shoots acid balls at you. If you press LB (XB1) next to one of the balls, you can point the arrow opposite of Mora and the acid will fire back at Mora, dealing a lot of damage. As soon as you shoot the acid back at her, dash towards her in the air and do the same thing with the next acid ball. Rinse and repeat this method whenever possible.

You can also use the wall hopping technique from Stage 1 to deal damage to Mora when possible, but don’t focus on this, because it’s much harder to find time to heal in this stage. Further, the spiders will hang out on the walls and can catch you off guard.

To recap, hit the spiders when you can, fire the acid balls back at Mora, and stay off the ground.

Mora Boss Battle | Stage 3

Good news, your progress has been saved! Once you get Mora down to half health, you’ll cue a chase scene. This part is a little tricky, but won’t be too bad. Just shoot yourself through the course using the different hanging lights before Mora catches you. Once you evade her, you’ll begin the last two stages of the fight.

For Stage 3, you’ll want to use the two hanging yellow gems over and over again. Every time Mora gets ready to fire the acid at you, use the gems to get close to her and fire them back in her face — this will do a lot of damage.

You can also use the yellow gems to jump over her head. If you’re feeling confident, you can hit Mora in the head a few times when she is shooting the steam of acid across the floor, just make sure to get away quickly when she is done.

However, to play it safe, just hit her with her acid balls over and over again and you’ll do enough damage to make it to the final stage. If you need to heal, do it close to a wall so you can jump on it if she shoots her light beam.

Mora Boss Battle | Stage 4

Congrats, you’ve made it to the final stage of the Ori and the Will of the Wisps spider boss fight. This part is pretty much the same as the previous stage, but it’ll be darker and harder to see Mora. However, if you have your Flash shard on, you’ll have extra light.

Your best bet is to continue using the yellow gems to hop back and forth and fire the acid balls back at Mora. If you have a few free moments before Mora attacks you, you can launch yourself straight up from a gem and deal lots of damage to the spiders underneath you.

Keep shooting the acid balls and Mora and eventually, you’ll wear her down. If you launch yourself close to Mora before she shoots the acid at you, it’ll be a whole lot easier to hit her with the acid.

Once you’ve hit her enough times, you’ll defeat her and obtain one of the five Wisps.

As a recap, to beat the spider boss in Ori and the Will of the Wisps, you’ll want to go from wall to wall and stay off the ground as much as possible. When possible, hit Mora with her acid balls or use your Spirit Edge to hit her head when exposed. Good luck!
