PlayStation 5 Stuck on Press PS Button | How to Fix

stuck on press PS button - PS5

It seems that a lot of PlayStation 5’s are getting stuck on the press PS button screen. It is not unusual for initial consoles of a new generation to present issues. We have seen this before with both the PS4 and the Xbox 360. It is not completely clear if this is an issue with the console or its firmware. Nonetheless, it is an annoying issue that is becoming more common and might be quite frustrating for many. Thankfully, there are things that can be done to fix this issue, and one of them should work for you.

It seems that PlayStation 5’s that are stuck on press PS button can be fixed by simply restarting the console. A hard reset is the ideal way to do it in this case. Just hold down the power button until you hear the second beep, which causes the system to shut down completely. This should be enough to make your gamepad start working again.

Unfortunately, this method doesn’t seem to work for everybody. So another way to fix the press PS button bug is by having the controller connected when the console is turning on. This should make the DualSense sync with the PlayStation 5 and solve the issue.

This is an annoying issue, and it seems to be triggered when the PS5 enters its rest mode. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon with a new update. Although having the PS5 stuck on Press PS Button is frustrating, it seems to be easy enough to fix and shouldn’t keep you from playing your favorite games. However, we recommend you to contact Sony if none of our suggestions are working. This might be a hardware issue, which means that updates and quick fixes are only going to be a temporary solution.
