The newest set of Pokémon games are finally here, bringing back old mechanics and featuring exciting new Pokémon. Pokémon Sword and Shield have introduced several more pocket monsters prime for catching, it’s just a matter of finding them. In this guide, we’ll be looking at the new Pokémon Sword and Shield Cufant. Here’s where to find Cufant and its evolution, and how long it takes to evolve one.
Pokémon Sword and Shield Cufant | Location and evolution guide
Somehow, the Pokémon devs find ways of imagining cooler, cuter, and crazier Pokémon every iteration. In this case, they’ve created the Pokémon Sword and Shield Cufant. Cufant is an adorable orange and teal elephant-like Pokémon, which later evolves into Copperajah, an intimidatingly lumbering giant of an elephant. They’re both pure steel types, making them invaluable additions to any lineup with their few weaknesses and many advantages against other types.
Cufant sounds adorably amazing, but just where can you find one? Well, unfortunately, Cufant isn’t available until a fair bit into the game. Wild Cufants can be found in Bridge Field, seen roaming around in tall grass. They’ll range from level 27 to 29 here, and have the highest spawn rate when there’s a snowstorm raging.
Once Cufant is caught, it’ll evolve fairly quickly. Once your Cufant hits level 34, he’ll begin evolving into Copperajah. Also, there’s no need to prevent him from evolving out of fear of missing out on future moves. All of the moves that Cufant gains beyond level 34 are actually available earlier for Copperajah.
If evolving Pokémon isn’t your thing, Copperajah has a natural spawn too. Copperajahs can be found at the Lake of Outrage. Their starting levels range from 55 to 58. However, they can only be found in a snowstorm, and their spawn rate is significantly lower than Cufants. With all that in mind, have fun catching them all!
