In 2003, Star Wars was a really hot IP in the US and around the world. Episode II: Attack of the Clones had debuted the year before and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith was soon to come.

There was also mass interest in Star Wars video game properties. To take advantage of that, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released on both PC and Playstation. Down the line, the title also became accessible on iOS, Mac and Android thanks to Aspyr Media.

While the game took place long before the events of Episodes II and III, the Star Wars mythos was clearly intact.

The game was a sales and critical success and nearly 20 years later, gamers still want to ply it. And today, it is available for purchase on Nintendo Switch.

A synopsis from Nintendo’s main site reads:

“Four thousand years before the Galactic Empire, hundreds of Jedi Knights have fallen in battle against the ruthless Sith and you are the last hope of the Jedi Order. Can you master the awesome power of the Force and save the Republic? Or will you fall to the lure of the dark side?”

Unlike the standard version of the game, the Switch version will solely be single player. That does mean, however, that users can access the game either at home or while on the go. The title is affordable, costing on $14.99. Users that choose to order will also receive 75 gold coins from Nintendo.
