If you have been playing Stranded Deep recently, you probably have encountered coconuts scattered around the various islands. Coconuts act as starting food and water for new players in the game. The coconut can even be used as a semi-permanent method of storing liquid and to craft medical items. They can also be used in conjunction with and to make the water still. If you keep reading, you will find out exactly how to make a coconut flask in Stranded Deep.
How to Make a Coconut Flask
To make a coconut flask in Stranded Deep players will need two items, the first is one coconut, and the other is one lashing. You can craft lashings from four Fibrous Leaves which can be obtained by cutting down either palm saplings or yucca trees. The following tools needed to chop down both will be listed below; chopping down either tree will drop six leaves.
The following items can be used to chop down trees:
- Crude Axe
- Refined Axe
- Refined Knife
- Stone Tool
The Stranded Deep coconut flask can also be found on survivor remains. Survivor remains are discover-able structures found in the game and there are a total of nine in the current build of the game. If you are able to locate these remains, you should be able to find a flask by rummaging through the remains.
After the player found or crafted the flask, they can now use it to make medical items. We’ve listed all medical items that can be crafted with a coconut flask in the list below.
- Antidote
- Aloe Salve
- Breath Boost
- Shark Repellent
You’ll want to have these items on hand in case you get bit by a snake or injure yourself. They’ll be the difference between life and death.
How to Make a Water Still
The water still is a major item in the latter part of the game as it will allow the player to store water for later use. The coconut flask is a key item in the water still, as it can be used to store water in the still, thus reducing the chance of dehydration.
All the items needed to craft a water still can be found in the list below. After you have all items, hed to the building tab in the crafting menu.
- 1 Coconut Flask
- 1 Piece of Tarp
- 1 Lashing
- 1 Palm Frond
- 3 Rocks

Do Coconuts Respawn?
Unfortunately, coconuts do not respawn in Stranded Deep. While inconvenient, players can find more coconuts on neighboring islands by building a raft and setting sail. However, you shouldn’t need many coconuts in the first place, as drinking them can give you diarrhea. Although, they can be used in making antidotes if you happen to get poisoned, so it’s always good to have some on hand.
