Brawlhalla was first released by Ubisoft in 2017 and the title has experienced tremendous growth. In March of 2021, it was reported that the game boasts over 50 million players.

That growth has happened for a number of reasons. First, the game is run with play reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. Second, the game is free to play. And finally, Blue Mammoth Games and Ubisoft have made some very smart partnership deals.

In the latest team-up, Brawlhalla will introduce 3 Street Fighter characters: Ryu, Chun-Li, and Akuma. There are also some updated features coming to the game along with the fighters.

The title will have a new Street Brawl mode that will look more like classic Street Fighter. The game will have a health bar that will remind gamers of the classic fighting games of the 1990s. There are also new avatars based on Zangief, the Shadaloo symbol, and a Hadoken.

Ubisoft describes the new players as follows:

  • Ryu- Ryu is always trying to find the next strongest opponent to better himself. Many of his iconic techniques have been brought over to Brawlhalla, like the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, Shoryuken, and Hadoken.
  • Chun Li- The Strongest Woman in the World is sure to teach her opponents a thing or two about how to take a kick. She brings techniques of her own into Brawlhalla, like the Spinning Bird Kick and Kikosho
  • Akuma- Focused on defeating the gods, the Master of the Fist is ready to make them truly tremble to pieces. He’ll achieve ultimate power with his Tatsumaki Zankukyaku and Zanku Hadoken techniques, among a few others.

This isn’t the only major crossover event planned for Brawlhalla in the coming year. The game will also be doing a collaboration with The Walking Dead.
