Details for the upcoming Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5 and PC were announced by Sony via their blog.
The Legacy of Thieves Collection was recently rated by the ESRB, so we’ve been expecting news regarding its release date.
The publisher announced that the Legacy of Thieves Collection will release on January 28th, 2022 for PlayStation 5. A PC release is not available at this time, but is expected to come out “soon.”
In addition, features regarding the remasters were revealed. Graphics updates include the following, per Sony:
- Fidelity Mode – For those of you who have a 4K display and want super sharp resolution above all else to enjoy the stunning environments and details the Uncharted series is known for, select Fidelity Mode and play in native 4K resolution with a 30fps target framerate.
- Performance Mode – We carried over the high framerate PS4 patch with Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate.
- Performance+ Mode – If you’re all about the smoothest gameplay possible and don’t mind a resolution drop, try out our first ever Performance+ Mode which targets 120fps* at a 1080p resolution.
*Requires a compatible 120hz display.
Load times were also improved over previous versions of the games, as well as Spatial 3D Audio. The Legacy of Thieves Collection also fine-tuned the rumble and haptic feedback for the DualSense controller.
Pricing information was also announced.
Both physical and digital copies of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be $49.99. Those that purchased any of the select PS4 titles below, though, can upgrade for $10.
There were also a couple of disclaimers announced by Sony regarding the upgrade:
Owners of PS4 disc copies must insert them into the PS5 every time they want to download or play the PS5 digital versions. PS4 game disc owners who buy the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5 version for the discounted price.
PlayStation Plus members who claimed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End via their PlayStation Plus subscription are not elgiible for the upgrade.
Please note that the multiplayer mode included in Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy will not be a part of this new collection.
