Valheim Dragon Eggs - Where to Find

If you’re trying to summon Valheim’s fourth boss, Moder, you’ll need Dragon Eggs to do so; three to be precise. That, however, is easier said than done. Not only can Dragon eggs be difficult to find, but there are numerous obstacles to overcome in the process of obtaining them. Regardless, we’ll go over everything you need to know about getting Dragon Eggs in Valheim right below. So keep reading to find out!

Where to Find Dragon Eggs in Valheim

Where to Find Dragon Eggs in Valheim

You can locate Dragon Eggs throughout the numerous Mountain biomes in Valheim. For the most part, you’ll want to search near the mountain’s peaks, as well as around Fir Tree clusters. You’ll almost always find the eggs resting in a bundle of rocks, which also has some glowing white rocks surrounding it, as these are the dragons’ “dens”. Another dead giveaway is that there are typically Drakes flying around where the eggs spawn, protecting the brood. Nonetheless, you’ll know you’ve located a Dragon Egg due to its black, purple, and pink fluorescent glow, which stands out among the snow.

One thing you may want to note when searching for Dragon Eggs is that they respawn after eight real-world hours. As a result, you can patiently farm one you’ve already found, rather than going on a wild goose chase. The choice is yours, but searching for them will be faster in the long run. And if you choose this route, here are some pointers to consider.

You’ll want to know how to fight Drakes as you’ll most likely have to fight some to get their Dragon Eggs. Fire attacks, such as fire arrows, work best against Drakes since they are built for cold weather. On that note, you’re not built for the cold of the Mountain biome and will take damage unless you’re adequately prepared. So check out this guide to learn everything you need to know to stop freezing.

A single Dragon Egg will weigh 200 points in your inventory. And, unfortunately, you cannot portal with Dragon Eggs. With that, keep in mind that Modor’s summoning location is almost always in the Mountain biome. So you’ll want to double-check you’re not hauling eggs away from this location. On that note, if there is a Dragon Egg near his summoning location, it may be better to farm the respawn of that one egg rather than lugging a bunch across the map.
