Valorant Cross-Platform Play | Can you play on consoles?

Valorant Cross-Platform Play

The closed beta for Riot Games’ new FPS Valorant has just started. Without a doubt, fans of the studio’s previous title, League of Legends, will be eager to get their hands on the game. Unfortunately, those excited for Valorant will not be able to play it until this summer without a beta key. Still, some players are wondering if the game will eventually support cross-play for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Here is what we know so far regarding Valorant cross-platform play.

Will Valorant have Cross-Platform Play?

Valorant Cross-Platform Play

Sadly, Valorant is only available for the PC, and the developers have not specified any plans for console releases or cross-platform play. There is still a possibility that the game will eventually get both, of course. Riot Games could also be waiting for the future launch of next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X before considering crossplay in Valorant.

It’s possible that Valorant might also follow the path taken by the studio’s main series League of Legends and get a mobile phone release. But until we hear more, all we can do in the meantime is guess what plans the developers have made.

In case you haven’t heard the buzz, Valorant is a competitive character-based tactical FPS. It blends together elements found in games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rainbow Six Siege, and various battle royales. Its main game mode is a 5v5 Search and Destroy mode that includes multiple bomb locations. It also features extensive customization options and will launch with 12 playable characters with unique abilities. If you want to try it out for yourself, you can find more information about the closed beta over at the Valorant website.

Since it’s still early in development, we haven’t heard much regarding Valorant cross-platform play. However, the beta is currently underway, so we’re likely to hear more about Riot Games’ plans as progress continues. Otherwise, we will have to wait until this summer to learn more.
