For decades, brawl-style fighting games have been among the most popular. And it really doesn’t matter who the competitors are. Hit games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter have been made with very obvious combatants. But games like Super Smash Bros. have proved that fighters can be a little goofy while still being successful.

And few fighting games are goofier than Nickelodeon’s All-Star Brawl. The 2021 title, which features competitors like Spongebob Squarepants, Ren and Stimpy, and Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold, has already seen millions play the game.

Now, the roster of fighters will be expanding. Developer Ludosity has announced that the game’s first DLC character will be Garfield.

At first, the legendary orange cartoon cat seems like an odd addition to the game. Garfield has long been known for his laziness and surly attitude than his ability to scrap. In fact, it seems like he would rather be hunting down lasagna and harassing Odie than getting in fights.

But the latest trailer for the game shows the feline to be quite an impressive combatant. Garfield can not only fight with props like a cane or his teddy bear, Pookie, he also throws pies at his opponents or burps in their faces.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S.
