Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War just released a new zombies mode in the form of Outbreak. This might come as a surprise to a lot of players as a new zombies map Firebase Z, was just released a little less than a month ago on February 4. Well, Outbreak isn’t your ordinary Zombies map, in fact, it’s kind of a fusion between zombies and Warzone and we’ve got the information to help you understand just what is Outbreak.
What Is Call of Duty Cold War Zombies Outbreak?
Outbreak is the newest map in the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombie mode. To be honest, it is a bit more accurate to classify Outbreak as its own mode, more so than just another map.
In Outbreak, the player and up to three of their friends have to fight against endless waves of the undead and other creatures, just like in normal zombies. The twist with Outbreak is that this is done in an open world map with a similar approach to Warzone’s map or others seen in Battle Royale games.
The player is able to freely roam throughout the massive map and complete various objectives, all while fighting off waves of flesh-eating monsters. The map has vehicles around the area to help travel from the different areas of interest faster and can be used to run over the undead.
What Are The Objectives
When a game of Outbreak starts, the player will be tasked with completing one of five objectives. The objectives are given at random and are as follows:
- Defend
- Holdout
- Escort
- Eliminate
- Retrieve
When a player finishes the objective they are assigned, they will be able to locate and interact with an anomaly. Doing this will summon and give the player a beacon to either warp to a new map or exfil. It will also give the player supplies that will help fight off zombies.
On top of those primary objectives, there are also secondary ones that the player can do to build up supplies. These secondary objectives are:
- Distress Call
- Dragon Relic
- Golden Chest
