There are three types of mastery camos available in Call of Duty: Vangard: Gold, Diamond, and Atomic. Gold and Diamond can also be found in some of the previous entries in the series, while the Atomic camo is exclusive to Vanguard. You can think of it as being the equivalent of Dark Matter Ultra from Black Ops Cold War.

There’s a certain progression when it comes to unlocking camos, so don’t expect to be able to get Atomic right off the bat. Instead, you’ll need to start by completing the basic camo challenges for any weapon in the game. There are 10 such challenges for every gun and once you complete them all, you’ll unlock the Gold camo for that specific weapon.

To get a Diamond camo you’ll need to up the ante a little bit. This camo type unlocks once you manage to get a Gold camo for every gun pertaining to a weapon type. If you want to get a Diamond camo asap, it’s a good idea to focus on LMGs or shotguns. Each of those weapon classes only has four guns to play around with. Same goes for rocket launchers.

Last but not least we have the Atomic camo. To get the Atomic camo, you’ll first need to unlock the Diamond camos for every weapon type in the game. This, in turn, means you’ll need to unlock the Gold camos for every single weapon in the game.

Call of Duty: Vanguard features no less than 38 weapons spread across eight different weapon classes, including knives. Needless to say, you have your work cut out for you if you’re planning to unlock the Atomic camo and become the ultimate completionist.
