CD Projekt Red began working on Cyberpunk 2077 all the way back in 2012. Over the next 8 years, significant interest developed for the game. And this anticipation reached a fever pitch in 2018 when the title received over 100 at E3 in 2018.

In late 2020, when Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released, it was expected to be the game of the year. The release, however, turned out to be a disaster. While the game was well received by critics, there were numerous bugs and performance issues. So gamers have long waited on a patch.

A 4chan leaker claiming to have inside information revealed that a patch and DLC were coming. The leak was chock full of information. Among other things, the post noted, “Cyberpunk 2077 next gen/patch 1.5 will be treated as a soft relaunch for the game. game will be renamed Cyberpunk 2077: Samurai Edition.”

The leaker also revealed, “The promised free DLC will be bundled in and includes 4 new weapons, New Game Plus, apartment customization, new gigs,” and:

“The combat zone is being fought over by two new gangs: the Bozos (violent clown psychopaths with a sick sense of humor) and a gang called Slaughterhouse (violent psychopath fascists). Walking around the combat zone feels very inspired by the game STALKER.”

While the information may or may not be true, CDPR is not confirming it. In fact, Global PR Director Radek Grabowski told Forbes, “this thing does not add up.”
