In the wonderful world of Dave the Diver, the titular hero explores the vastness of the Blue Hole. Within its depths, Dave can come across the legendary hammer of Thor, Mjolnir itself. Drawn straight from Norse Mythology, the electrifying hammer emits a powerful force unlike any other weapon in the game. And Dave can wield the mighty instrument himself if he’s lucky enough to find it underwater.

With this in mind, Dave the Diver players will need to have some experience under their belt to find Mjolnir. The hammer is randomly generated in the game, which might disappoint some players in their expeditions to find it. It’s entirely possible to locate it, of course. Once it’s found, though, that’s where the real fun begins. The diving expert must know his way across the Blue Hole if the unique item is to show up.

Payers can locate Mjolnir in Dave the Diver by exploring the Glacial Area of the Blue after unlocking the Glacier Passage with the Sea People. The hammer will be encased in a block of blue ice inside the Third Glacial Cave at 500-525m. It might appear near the edge of an underwater cliff. Alternatively, it could be hiding in the First Glacial Cave. Another promising area to search is the location of the missing Beluga whale, which is aligned with Chapter 6: Glacier Zone. For context, the Glacial Area is also known as the Glacier Zone.

No matter the case, Dave must have already upgraded his diving equipment to sustain the pressure of the Glacier Zone. Usually, his equipment will see enhancements as players progress through the story. Furthermore, the said zone will be explored by working with the Sea People. Doing so will result in acquiring new fish from the Blue Hole, which is essential for the increasing business at Bancho Sushi.

Expert Tip

Dave’s diving suit is vital for exploring the depths of the Blue Hole. When it comes to the Glacial Area, antarctic temperatures come into play, prompting the cold-resistant diving suit to be acquired from the Sea People. As such, it’s highly recommended that the suit gets upgraded to ensure that Dave can see more of the Glacial Area.

Upon discovering Thor’s hammer underwater, Dave the Diver players can begin to break open its entrapment. As such, smash the block of blue ice to expose the hammer’s handle at the top of the structure. Players must hit the block a few times to get a decent opening. Next, Dave can hover over the hammer to pull it out of its spot. This will start a mini-game akin to the one in “Cobra’s Lost Crowbar.” Complete the mini-game, and the power of Thor will be in your hands!

Unleashing the Power of Thor

With Mjolnir in hand, Dave the Diver can start swinging away at fish during the expedition in which he found it. After wielding the hammer and emitting a streak of lightning, Dave can either swing or throw Mjolnir. It delivers 20 damage, though the output will be 30 if Dave charges up the attack. It can also deal 80% of the damage to a nearby target with a chain lightning effect. The weapon’s elemental property is lightning, which comes as no surprise.

However, Thor’s mighty hammer can only be used on the expedition where it was discovered. As soon as Dave emerges from the Blue Hole to the surface, Mjolnir will no longer be available. Players will have to return to the Blue Hole and the Glacial Area again to find the lightning weapon. It may not be in the same spot that it was initially found. That’s why looking into the other areas mentioned above that could house a hammer covered in blue ice is imperative.

Furthermore, tossing Mjolnir at a fish and hitting it will reel in the God of Lightning achievement for Dave the Diver adventurers. Completionists will need this information to attain 100%, though casual players might be caught off-guard when first using the hammer.

It’s a shame that Mjolnir won’t return to the Bancho Sushi restaurant with us. It may be comforting to know that it will always be in the Blue Hole, though Dave will always have to find his way back to it.
