The adage “look good, feel good, play good” even holds true in Destiny 2. And it’s all thanks to the Armor Synthesis, or Transmog system, which was added to Destiny 2 in Season 14. Essentially, this system allows you to transform your less-than-stylish armor into fashionable pieces that not only perform well but are appealing to wear. However, Armor Synthesis, like everything else in Destiny 2, is a bit complicated. So, read on to learn how to Transmog your armor!
How to Transmog in Destiny 2
If you haven’t already done so, the first step to Transmog armor in Destiny 2 is to unlock it. To do that, head to The Tower and speak with Banshee-44. He should be able to give you a quest called, “Armor Synthesis Introduction”. For this quest, you must first visit Ada-1 in the Tower Annex. After speaking with Ada-1, head to Europa to locate the Braytech Processor required to activate the Loom. Once you have it, head back to speak with Ada-1, install the processor, and the Loom will be activated, and thusly the ability to Transmog your armor. So how do you exactly do that?
After completing that mission, you’ll notice that you’ve received five Synthweave Bolt, Plate, and Scrap. These are associated with each of the three classes, Warlock, Hunter, and Titan. Furthermore, Synthweave is what you use on unlocked armor from your collections to create Universal Ornaments. You do this by going to your character’s appearance screen, selecting “Appearance Customization,” and then selecting any armor piece you’ve unlocked (Legendary quality or lower) from Collections and converting it into the desired Universal Armor Ornament.
Since Syntheweave is what you use to Transmog armor, you’ll need to know how to get it. You can either buy it from the store using Silver, get it as a reward from quests, or you can get Synthcord. You get Synthcord as a reward for completing bounties from Ada-1. Then, you can convert a 100 Synthcord, into one Synthweed at the loom.
