Destiny 2 is one of those games that can be more fun to play with friends. But after a long day of missions and quests, or if you’re sick of your fireteam, you may want to leave and play on your own for a bit. So, how does one leave a fireteam in Destiny 2?
Destiny 2 | How to Leave Fireteam
If you want to leave a Fireteam in Destiny 2 while on a planet, you’re going to want to open your menu. Either by holding the touchpad on PlayStation, Tab on PC, or Select on Xbox. This will bring out your ghost. Looking to the bottom left of the screen, you should see an option to leave the Fireteam. Hold on the key shown next to that option, and you’ll return to orbit, alone, leaving the fireteam.
If you’re already in orbit with a Fireteam, navigate to the Fireteam tab on the menu. Once you have the list of players in your fireteam on the bottom right of the window, interact with your name. You’ll then have the option to split off from your Fireteam and continue playing Destiny 2 alone.
Once you know what to do, leaving a Fireteam is easy, and there are plenty of ways for players to have their own fun alone in the game. Perhaps you’re attempting a boss by yourself, or you have to complete a mission that your fireteam doesn’t want to. Splitting off from your fireteam isn’t the end of your adventures, as there are plenty of ways to be brought back into the Fireteam. Either through being invited by friends, or inviting them yourself.
Whatever way you slice it, Destiny 2 is a solid MMO-styled FPS. Like most games in that genre, it’s more fun with friends. However, there will be times when you’ll have to run solo, so knowing how to leave without quitting the game is a good nugget of knowledge.
