Despite all of its controversy, Diablo Immortal’s revenue is over $100 million, and that’s only counting the mobile version. The news comes from Sensor Tower via GamesIndustry.biz.

Immortal launched on June 2nd for PC, Android, and iOS. The Chinese release finally took place on July 25th on both iOS and Android devices. Given the strength of the Chinese mobile market, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that number grow in the future.

Blizzard reported earlier this week that Immortal has seen over 20 million installations globally. The large install base plus the recent launch in China can mean Diablo Immortal’s revenue will most likely continue to skyrocket.

In our Diablo Immortal review, we liked what we saw with the game’s content but were troubled with its predatory microtransactions.

We said: “On face level, Diablo Immortal is a fantastic game and one of the best mobile titles of all time. The core gameplay is what you’d expect from the franchise and is an all-around good time. Having said that, the monetization of the game is predatory, scummy, manipulative, and off-putting.”

As soon as we get the numbers for Diablo Immortal’s revenue post-Chinese launch, we’ll report them to you.
