File this under things we didn’t expect to see today. Gameloft unveiled Disney Dreamlight Valley, an immersive game that is part sim and part adventure game. It will come complete with quests, exploration, and engaging activities. Best of all? It includes all your favorite Disney heroes, villains, and those that fall somewhere in between. Players can create their custom avatar and dive into helping revitalize “a once-idyllic village now desolate and full of Night Thorns” caused by an event called The Forgetting. You’ll help iconic Disney and Pixar characters recover the memories. It honestly sounds similar to the ABC show Once Upon A Time. It had fairy-tale characters cursed to live in a town where they’d forgotten who they once were.

The game even has a dash of The Sims and Animal Crossing. You’ll be able to design your own home and village in various Disney locales. Have you ever wanted to build a cottage in the snow like Elsa in the Frosted Heights? You’ll be able to do it in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It also includes items from your favorite Disney and Pixar games in your dream home and village.

Luigi Priore, V.P., of Disney and Pixar Games, shared his excitement about the upcoming game. “Disney Dreamlight Valley will give our fans the opportunity to write their own story and build their ideal Disney and Pixar life within a richly detailed world populated with characters from some of Disney’s most iconic stories.”

“Our development team is a big family of Disney and Pixar fans and have poured all of our passion into the development of Disney Dreamlight Valley, especially in the way we depict characters and their story arcs.”

Priore says players can expect to get a look at the game this summer when it enters Early Access. You’ll need to purchase a Founder’s Pack or have an Xbox Game Pass membership to access that.

Per the game’s press release, players from any platform will have access to Early Access. This includes PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles. PC and Mac versions will be released on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and the Mac App Store. The game will be fully released in 2023 as a free-to-play title.
