With its re-release, plenty of us are wondering where some of the trickier items can be found. In this guide, we’ll be looking at the Dragon Quest Builders 2 Magic Pencil, including the Magic Pencil location and how to use the Magic Pencil. Here’s everything there is to know about this mythical item!

Where to Find the Dragon Quest Builders 2 Magic Pencil Blueprint Location

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is, unsurprisingly, a game largely devoted to questing and building. While you’re free to build everything by yourself, from scratch, it’s a really inefficient way of doing things. That’s where two key components of the game come into play: your townspeople, and your Magic Pencil.

Townspeople are simple enough to gather, but the Magic Pencil isn’t explicitly nor readily available. With good reason too; the Magic Pencil creates blueprints of any assortment of blocks that players come across, which then can be delegated to the townspeople for construction. In essence, if you see a structure in your world or another player’s that you like, you can pretty much copy and past it.

To get the Magic Pencil in Dragon Quest Builders 2, you’ll need to build a Reception Room. We actually have a handy Reception Room building guide available that should help you out if you don’t know how to build one.

Once getting it, you’ll probably be wondering how to use the Magic Pencil. The Magic Pencil can copy an area of about 72 x 54 x 9. The height is somewhat variable depending on the horizontal area. If you’re trying to build a structure larger than that, it is possible to scan and blueprint in parts. Just be careful with the copying and pasting to avoid overlapping.
