In 2015, Techland released Dying Light, an action-adventure game that featured plenty of zombies and parkour. That combination turned out to be a winning one. The title had the highest-selling first month of sales for a new survival-horror intellectual property, breaking the record previously held by The Evil Within.
So it is no surprise that a sequel to the game went into the works almost immediately. And after years of anticipation, the game will be released in February of 2022. And players excited about the game should probably make some time on the calendar as it will take around 500 hours to complete the game entirely.
The Dying Light Twitter page posted over the weekend, “To fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you’ll need at least 500 hours—almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!”
The game makers, though, later elaborated on the tweet, writing, “UPDATE: 500 hours is related to maxing out the game – finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don’t worry!”
Techland is seemingly giving players the option to choose their own adventure. There are always gamers who will want to complete the game as soon as possible. And then there will be players who want to completely get lost in the world for a couple of months.
Thanks to various factors, January and February will see a number of monster releases in the gaming world. And thanks to the cold winter months, gamers are sure to be spending plenty of time indoors.
Dying Light 2 will be available on several platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
