Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising Release Date Revealed and Launches Day One on Game Pass

Characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, the fast-paced 2.5D action RPG and prequel to the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will release on May 10th, 2022. Eiyuden Chronicle is a project from the creators of the Suikoden series that was fully funded on Kickstarter. The second Suikoden game is one of the best JRPG games everyone should play. The game is published by 505 Games in collaboration with Rabbit & Bear Studios and developed by NatsumeAtari.

Rising will act as a companion prequel to the main game and will weave together the stories of several characters who will become companions in Eiyuden Chronicle. Rising will introduce these characters through an original story and offer exciting action-based battles and town upgrading elements.

These three thrill and fortune-seeking adventures come together in New Nevaeh, a town where an Earthquake revealed the Runebarrows – a place of magic.

In Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, players will meet CJ, the Venerable Scavenger, and Garoo, the Beastman Mercenary. They hope to mine the Rune Lens, a source of magic hidden underground. They’ll also meet Isha, the Young Deputy Mayor who wants to rebuild her town.

The official press release teases the plot and how it will connect to Hundred Heroes. “Within the Runebarrows hides a deep-rooted conspiracy with shocking ramifications for the Eiyuden Chronicle universe. Prepare for Hundred Heroes’ intricate plot and globe-spanning adventure by playing through the inciting events in Rising.”

In Rising, battles will be fast-paced and let you swap between characters on the fly. CJ uses climbing axes to strike quickly, Isha specializes in magic, and Garoo wields a mighty, giant sword. Players can also unleash devastating Link Attacks that combine each hero’s specialty. These can be used to help topple bosses in battle.

You’ll be able to scavenge materials to reconstruct New Neveah. What you do in Rising will carry over to Hundred Heroes when it releases in 2023. In the game, “cross-content includes special cosmetic items, valuable equipment, and trade goods.” Players can also “make a personal mark on the world of Eiyuden Chronicle by naming certain weapons and delicacies in Rising that will carry over to Hundred Heroes next year.”

The prequel will cost $14.99 but will come to Xbox and PC Game Pass on day one, so it will be free for subscribers there.

Rising’s pre-war tales begin May 10th, 2022 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Epic and GOG.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will also be available on day one via Xbox and PC Game Pass.
