You can get the Moonveil Katana by defeating the Magma Wyrm boss within the Gael Tunnel of the Caelid region. You can find this dungeon past the middle portion of the border between Limgrave and Caelid. Travel here to venture within the dungeon and face the Magma Wyrm boss.

Firstly, you need to enter through the rear entrance to the dungeon where you’ll run into two guards. Take them out then proceed to cautiously drop down to find a Site of Grace. Be sure to activate this since you’re already passing through. You can simply run past the red guards as you traverse through the dungeon to eventually find the Site. It will then reveal Gael Tunnel to you, with a door leading to the boss on your left.

Next, enter through to face the lava-breathing boss. This aggressive dragon takes up a large part of the arena, meaning you’ll need to circle it constantly. You’ll also need to be swift in your dodges and strikes to avoid his attacks. We recommend going into this fight with either sufficient resources to keep you afloat, or bring a friend co-op to help you out.

This dragon will hurl up molten lava to only drag it around with him, creating a path of fire that you should positively avoid; aside from the actual balls of fire that he spits out, too. And since he’s equipped with a big club in his right arm, his dominant strikes will be dependent on that side. In that case, focus your movements to the left to prevent any gigantic slashes. He also hates magic, but these are the attacks to look out for.

Once the dragon is slain and the dust settles, the Moonveil Katana will be yours. You’ll also earn a Dragon Heart you can use to learn new incantations at the Church of Dragon Communion. You’re then free to teleport back to the entrance and continue on your journey.
