Elden Ring Remembrances Ranked

Elden Ring has over 200 bosses, making it the most expensive FromSoftware game yet. However, most of these bosses aren’t mandatory; you only need to get some specific Remembrances to succeed. That being said, depending on what ending you’re going for, you may have to get different ones than other endings.

Here is our ranking for all of the Elden Ring Remembrances based on how fun they are to fight, how memorable they are, the character design, and the music accompanying the fight.

S+ Tier – Dragonlord Placidusax

This boss is fantastic, and it makes me wish it was more accessible. Hidden away in Crumbling Farum Azula, you get to take on one of the most incredible and most difficult bosses in Elden Ring.

With a great musical score for the fight combined with intense sound effects for Dragonlord Placidusax’s attacks. With devastating lightning explosions and cleave attacks, this boss has an intensity like no other.

The cutscene that comes just before this fight is also fascinating, and the eerie appearance of the boss floating in the sky is dormant.

Dragonlord Placidusax will always be one of the Remembrances’ coolest and most intense fights.

S Tier – Astel, Naturalborn of the Void

While you can defeat Astel twice in Elden Ring, Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, is the fight that matters. Astel, Stars of Darkness is the stronger version of this boss. This fight can be quite complicated as he has multiple high-range attacks. This includes his tail, skull, horns, and hands.

This boss is necessary to get a particular ending in Elden Ring, but overall, it is optional. However, it is worth experiencing just once, as it is a great challenge, and the character design is phenomenal.

S Tier – Lichdragon Fortissax

Unfortunately, this boss is far out of the way and requires you to complete a specific quest line. However, if you should complete the questline and get to this boss, prepare for an immense challenge. To get a particular ending, you need to kill Lichdragon Fortissax.

This boss has some wild power and can be quite a challenge where you may run to this boss multiple times to attempt the fight. Not only does it have powerful lightning attacks, but it also has a ramped-up phase two, where the attacks are stronger and can leave you fighting for your life. Not only does he utilize lightning attacks, but he also has the power of fire on his side, and his standard dragon swipes and bites.

Should you get stuck, summoning some assistance for this fight may be a great idea as the boss is quite tanky, and at least with assistance, you can have them distract the boss while you get some hits in and run to heal when necessary.

S Tier – Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

While she isn’t the hardest boss to fight, and phase one consists of a somewhat gimmicky approach, the second arena you fight her in is beautiful, and one of the best FromSoftware has ever created. She has a rich magical moveset that keeps you on your toes and a fantastic character design and lore within the game.

This fight never gets boring, no matter how many times you defeat it. While Raya Lucaria is a nightmare, this fight makes it worth it.

S Tier – Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, is a fantastic boss. Walking into the arena gives you an unsettled feeling in the pit of your stomach as the snake lies there peacefully until you attack. Phase one is a breeze, but phase two is when the chaos kicks in.

With brilliant sound design and an iconic cutscene leading you into phase two, it’s hard not to love this boss. The fight gets pretty intense, as he has skulls raining down from the sky, and a constant “whooshing” of air sound fills your ears as you fight for survival.

This boss is even better if you complete the quest at Volcano Manor. It’s very worth the many hours of dying and retrying again.

S Tier – Mohg, Lord of Blood

Mohg, Lord of Blood, is different from Mohg, the Omen. Instead, you must deal with a much harder boss with a fantastic musical score and brutal attacks.

Phase two of this fight is challenging, especially when he leeches your health and can kill you once he reaches “Nihil.” It is terrifyingly powerful and can intensify this battle, depending on your health bar’s size.

A Tier – Morgott the Omen King

A much more complicated version of Margit, Morgott the Omen King. With a curse build-up from his sword and a destructive phase two. This fight is even more challenging, with powerful projectiles that rain overhead and Morgott being more agile than his counterpart.

With frantic movements and a last-ditch hostile effort to protect the Erdtree, Morgott the Omen King is a fun and difficult fight with a sporadic moveset that is hard to memorize.

A Tier – Godrick the Grafted

The second mainline boss in Elden Ring, Godrick the Grafted, is fun and erratic. Phase one isn’t the hardest, but he does have incredibly hard-hitting moves, especially as he destroys the terrain around him.

The music for this fight suits it so well, as it feels like a macabre dance with Godrick the Grafted and descends into madness as you reach phase two, and he now has a dragon head grafted to his arm.

The chaos begins in phase two, and defeating Godrick feels like a test of strength.

A Tier – Regal Ancestor Spirit

While this fight doesn’t offer anything overwhelmingly special, as you already fought an Ancestor Spirit earlier in the game, this battle provides a sense of calm and tranquility. Not only that, but the music to go with this boss is breathtaking and almost makes you feel guilty for killing the Regal Ancestor Spirit.

Everyone should experience this fight just once, as it’s truly a beautiful battle.

A Tier – Starscourge Radahn

One of the gimmick bosses in the game, Starscourge Radahn, is an entertaining fight in a ginormous arena. Summon NPCs (including Patches)  to help do damage to him while he rides on a comically small steed with the power of gravitational magics. While summoning the NPCs is entirely optional, it does make the fight a lot easier, as well as adding a different degree of intensity to the battle, as it isn’t as cut and dry as dodging and weaving but also has the added mechanic of finding the summon signs in the sand.

Phase two is where it gets intense, as he leaps into the sky and comes diving into the arena with some immense gravitational magic that can one-shot you as soon as they fly at you. Overall, this is one of the most fun fights in the game, as it has many ways to be played out.

A Tier – Maliketh, the Black Blade

One of the fastest fights in the game, Maliketh, the Black Blade, is incredibly difficult but has such a great build-up and character design. This boss is incredibly agile, bouncing from column to column and dive-bombing the player; it’s one of the more brutal fights out of the Elden Ring Remembrances.

Not only are his attacks very powerful, but he also depletes your health with a debuff, making your health bar even shorter and meaning your heals aren’t as powerful as they should be. With the combination of his fast movement speed, attacks, and debuffs, Maliketh, the Black Blade, is one of the hardest but most rewarding fights in Elden Ring.

B Tier – Elden Beast

A complex two-phase fight starting with a tousle with Radagon, the first phase of the fight feels much harder than the second phase, where Radagon becomes one with the Elden Beast, and you have to take on a whole second boss.

The score for both Radagon and Elden Beast is fantastic, with a personal preference for the beautiful mystique of the Elden Beast’s theme.

Radagon hits pretty hard, whereas the fight with Elden Beast is all about closing the gap and avoiding their beautiful but unpredictable moveset.

B Tier – Malenia, Blade of Miquella

Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is equally loved and hated by many. With a great soundtrack that is seared into many players’ brains, she is one of the hardest bosses in the game. With an extensive moveset and the ability to leech health from the player and inflict Scarlet Rot, this will be one of the most infuriating fights you’ve ever experienced.

Due to the sheer difficulty and skill level, you need to take her on, it’s worth doing this fight at least once. Especially since the journey to unlock the Haligtree is a lengthy one.

Maybe we’ll see more of their bloodline in the Elden Ring DLC and receive more backstory about Miquella.

C Tier – Fire Giant

The Fire Giant is subpar as a fight. While it has some fun techniques and mechanics to utilize throughout the fight, it isn’t anything we haven’t seen before with some of the other Giant bosses and enemies throughout the world of Elden Ring and other Souls games.

That being said, the difference between phases one and two is astounding, and it can get quite intense as he becomes more frantic, breathing fire on the player. As the Fire Giant rips off his leg in a grotesque cutscene, the fight becomes a bit easier as he doesn’t have the mobility he had at the start of the fight.

C Tier – Hoarah Loux, Warrior

While the cutscene that starts this fight is phenomenal, the fight is quite tricky but also quite boring. The fight doesn’t have anything special to it, as he uses a lot of grapple attacks and stomps; it feels more like a complicated fighting game than anything. This applies to the first phase of the fight, too, when you are up against Godfrey, First Elden Lord.

Overall, the fight doesn’t offer anything spectacular or feel that rewarding once completed.

That concludes our Elden Ring Remembrances tier list. Who is your favorite boss in Elden Ring, and are they on this list?
