Summoning Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring provides a helpful hand from ghostly allies when engaging in a fight. The more powerful your Spirit Ashes, the more you’re inclined to fight tougher enemies. With this in mind, there eventually comes a time when you need to upgrade your Spirit Ashes to take them down. Fortunately, the process is straightforward.
How to Level Up Spirit Ash Summons in Elden Ring
To upgrade your Spirit Ashes, you’ll need to speak with Roderika, the spirit-tuner found at Roundtable Hold after speaking with her at the Stormhill Shack. After doing a little running around for her, she’ll be able to level up your Spirit Ashes with Grave Gloveworts, Ghost Gloveworts, and some Runes.
Grave Gloveworts can be found in the Tombsward Catacombs and Impaler’s Catacombs at the Weeping Peninsula. For Ghost Gloveworts, you can find them in multiple spots along the Siofra River and Ainsel River. Additionally, you can purchase these planets from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold. You’ll first need to offer them the Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing in order to buy them.
How to Complete Roderika’s Quest to Unlock Spirit Tuning
As aforementioned, Roderika will have you running an errand for her. She’ll task you with getting the Chrysalids’ Memento at Stormveil Castle. This is the only item you need for her, as it will open up her shop to spirit tune your summons. She’ll also gift you with the Jellyfish Spirit Ashes as well.
To get the Chrysalids’ Memento, head to Stormveil Castle by traveling to the Rampart Tower Site of Grace. You don’t need to fight the enemies within your vicinity unless it’s up to you. But the Chrysalids’ Memento will be at a lower level near a dining hall. Jump down from the tower to reach it.
Once you get there, locate the room with the pile of corpses. A couple of hounds will be surrounding the dead bodies, so it’s best to deal with them before getting the item. The Chrysalids’ Memento will be on top of the pile. After you retrieve it, travel back to Roundtable Hold.
From here, you’ll need to do a little back-and-forth between Roderika and Smithing Master Hewg. First, speak with Hewg about Roderika and exhaust the dialogue. Next, go to Roderika to talk to her about what Hewg said. After that, return to Hewg to talk about Roderika once again and agree to watch over her. Talk with her for the final time, and she’ll soon start her training.
You can go ahead and refresh the game with a grace point to find that she has moved. She can now be found sitting adjacent to Hewg, awaiting for you to select your next summon upgrade.
