Prayerbooks are among the many items spread throughout Elden Ring. They’re particularly useful for spellcasters, since they offer the chance to learn new Sorceries and Incantations. However, you’ll need to give these books to experienced scholars in order to learn the spells contained within. The problem is that many NPCs move around, and sometimes disappear entirely. So who should you be giving your spell books to? Is any one NPC better than the rest?
Who to Give Prayerbooks To in Elden Ring
You should give your prayerbooks to Miriel, Pastor of Vows at the Church of Vows at the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Miriel is a unique creature that closely resembles a large tortoise. He’ll be in the main courtyard, making him tough to miss. He’s very knowledgeable on the lore of the game, and you can learn new Sorceries and Incantations from him.
Miriel is the best NPC to give Prayerbooks to because he doesn’t ever move. He claims that his legs aren’t what they used to be; thus, he stays stationed at the Church of Vows, making him a worthy character to continuously interact with. However, if you slay him, he will drop the Miriel’s Bell Bearing. This can be given to the Twin Maiden Husks to check out new items. That choice, of course, is up to you.
“You’re Tarnished, aren’t you? I welcome you, to the Church of Vows. I am Miriel, steward of this sacred chamber. My apologies, for the unseemly state of affairs. Do you know the origin of this place?” – Miriel, Pastor of Vows
Whether you’re in possession of the Dragon Cult Prayerbook or any others, you’ll be able to trade with Miriel to gain access to his various spells. It’s also important to note that you should have a decent intake of Runes, for the spells easily go for the thousand price range. Miriel’s shop includes Blessing’s Boon, Carian Greatsword, Lord’s Heal, Magic Glintblade, Star Shower, and more.
