Fallout 76, first released in November of 2018 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, is currently free-too-play until October 11th.

The promo is a part of Bethesda’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Fallout franchise. When ranking every entry in the Fallout series, we had the following to say regarding Fallout 76:

“The biggest problem with Fallout 76 in 2022 is that it fails in terms of both single-player and multiplayer content. It has neither the same level of depth as a main Fallout title nor the same level of online functionality as a traditional MMO.”

“At the end of the day, Fallout 76 did get better since launch and will hopefully continue to get better, but it’s still not a particularly good game.”

Fallout 76 has one of the lowest opinions of all the Bethesda games. The game has done well to grow from its rough launch, however. It has seen steady support from Bethesda to add additional content and storylines.

If you’re enjoying your time with the Fallout 76 free-to-play week, you’ll be pleased to know that the select games in the Fallout franchise are 75% off on Steam. This includes Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout: Tactics, and more.

As for the next entry in the Fallout franchise, don’t expect it anytime soon. Bethesda is hard at work on Starfield before they move on to the next game in the Elder Scrolls franchise. When we get to the next Fallout game, though? Todd Howard says it will leave us breathless.

Fallout 76 and its additional content releases, including The Pitt, are now available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
