Following are the best teams in FIFA 21 for a career mode full of challenges
FIFA 21 Best Teams for a Career Mode Challenge
Our five picks for the best teams in FIFA 21 for a difficult challenge have been picked considering their history, potential, transfer budget, and the quality of players that they possess. Pick any of these names and transform them into one of the best teams in the world in your FIFA 21 Career Mode.
- Leeds United
- Girona FC
- RB Leipzig
- Inter Miami CF
- Tottenham Hotspur
Let’s get started!
Leeds United
- League: English Premier League
- Budget: £14.5M
- Glory Objective: Secure the Premier League title within five years of management.
Leeds United have finally managed to climb back to the top tier of English Football after 16 years since being shockingly relegated in 2004. At one point, they were one of the best teams in England and now they’ve finally found their true place back. Step into the shoes of legendary Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa and aim to keep Leeds United in the Premier League.
With a transfer budget of £14.5M at the start of your career, your objectives must be to aim for a top ten finish in your first season. You must also aim to develop some youth players and integrate them well into your squad for the next season, where your objective should be to secure an European berth. Your ultimate goal as a manager should be to win the Premier League trophy, Leeds’ first since 1992.
Girona F.C.
- League: Spanish Segunda División
- Budget: £3.8M
- Glory Objective: Securing a UEFA Europa League place.
Girona FC took La Liga by storm when they gained promotion to the Spanish First Division in 2017 for the first time in 87 years. Finishing 10th in their first season and defeating giants like Real Madrid, Girona looked like one of the best teams in the league. However, they were relegated back to the second division the following season and have been there since.
Your job as the manager of Girona would be to lead the team back to the first division, emulating their success in the 2017-18 season. Free Agents and Loans are your best bet to build your squad and don’t forget youth prospects as well. Within three seasons of promotion, your aim must be to make Girona play European Football – which means making them finish at least Top 6 in the first division. Good luck with that.
RB Leipzig
- League: Bundesliga (Germany)
- Budget: £44M
- Glory Objective: Win the Bundesliga (Bonus : win the UEFA Champions League)
Unlike Leeds or Girona which are over 85-year-old clubs, Leipzig was only founded 11 years ago. Despite that, they’ve displayed tremendous quality of football and were semi-finalists of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League and were one of the best teams of the tournament. With quite a few star players on their side, like Upamecano and Sabitzer, and the prospect of adding a few more players with a decent transfer budget of £44M, you must aim to lead Leipzig to the Bundesliga title within two years of management and break Bayern Munich’s domination over German Football.
As you’ll automatically be qualified for the UEFA Champions League at the start of your career mode, you must try and aim to at least be semi-finalists in your first season, as it will also make the board grant you extra funds for going so far into the tournament. After you have a Bundesliga title under your belt, go for the big one and try to lead your team to the UEFA Champions League.
Inter Miami C.F
- League: Major League Soccer (USA)
- Budget: £26.4M
- Glory Objective: MLS Title within two years.
David Beckham’s Inter Miami are making their debut as one of the best teams in FIFA 21. The club already has a few notable names, including the Higuain Brothers and Blaise Matuidi. What better way to exert dominance than dominating other teams who’ve been a mainstay in the league for years.
You can even aim to win the title in your first season if you want and establish yourself as one of the best teams in the league, but I’d recommend spending your first season strengthening your team and creating your own custom tactics since Inter Miami is a new club and there isn’t much information yet on their play-style in real life.
Tottenham Hotspur
- League: English Premier League
- Budget: £66M
- Glory Objective: Win the Premier League, FA Cup, and a European trophy.
Spurs are probably the only ones on this list that can be termed as a big team, but I’ve included them in the list of best teams in FIFA 21 to play as because of their recent history – or a lack of it thereof. From being UEFA Champions League finalists in 2019 to the controversial hiring of Jose Mourinho, Spurs have seen all but trophies. Spurs haven’t won a trophy since 2008 – shocking considering the quality of players and managers that they’ve had.
Your objective would be to bring back the glory days of this North London club, starting with domestic success like the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. With a hefty budget, you must bring in players that would strengthen your squad and also aim to sign Gareth Bale on a full transfer after his year-long loan expires. Then, mount a challenge for the Premier League trophy and either one of the European trophies. Whichever one you want to win first is up to you.
There you go, these are some of the best teams in FIFA 21 to play with for a career mode challenge. Implement your tactics, develop the youth players, and go get those big shiny trophies under your belt.
