Super Smash Bros. first became available in December of 2018. To say the title was successful would be a major understatement. Not only did the game sell millions of copies, but it also won various game of the year awards.

There have been multiple updates to the game through the years, many of them featuring new fighters from all different kinds of places. Nintendo recently announced that the final fighter update will be coming soon.

Nintendo UK VS tweeted, “Ver. 13.0.1 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is coming soon! This update includes the final fighter adjustments, meaning replay data from previous versions will be incompatible. Convert your replays by going to Vault -> Replays -> Replay Data -> Convert to Video, before updating.”

Just because the final update is being dropped does not mean that there still aren’t big plans for the game. Nintendo just announced a major partnership deal with Panda Global to host Super Smash Bros. tournaments.

Panda said in a statement:

“Panda is proud to announce we will be operating the first-ever officially licensed championship circuit for both the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Melee games! This short series of events based in North America will kick off in 2022 and lead to a single championship with cash prizes for competitors in each Super Smash Bros. title.”
