Things are changing in Fortnite! After Epic turned building off in the game’s primary mode, several dataminers have found evidence that seems to point to it being permanent. This significant gameplay change was first unveiled in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Resistance story trailer on March 20th.
The trailer ends with all player-made buildings nullified as Doctor Strange from the Marvel universe steps out of a portal. The trailer ends with a large-scale, epic showdown between two opposing forces. Currently, in-game building is unavailable.
So far, the leaks point to multiple ways to play the game with building coming back in the future. So, if you’re a fan of doing constriction while being shot at, fear not! The change would likely be implemented in its separate game mode. For those who prefer it, building would be available so you can construct to your heart’s content. It would be available in Battle Royale and any other modes it usually is available in.
Dataminers also have uncovered no-build options for Solos, Duos, Trios, and Squads. If building and the need to juggle multiple things at once has ever scared you away from Fortnite, it might become an even more accessible place to play if the no-building modes become permanent options. Choosing how you play has become very important in recent years with gamers of all skill levels.
Popular Fortnite Twitter News fed HYPEX also points to text on loading screens in the datamine that read “in modes with building enabled…” HYPEX has been correct with things like this, so it’s likely they’re right. So far, there has been no word from Epic yet if there is any truth to these leaks.
Are you a fan of building in Fortnite, or would you like the no-build mode to stay?
