Forza Motorsport Preview: Racing into the Next Generation

Forza Motorsport Preview (1)

The Forza series has been the best driving game on Xbox consoles for a long time. It has beautiful graphics, detailed car models, and intense simulation-style gameplay. Now, the next game in the series is about to come out, and it looks like Forza Motorsport will set a new high for the genre.

I saw an early hands-off demo of the new Forza Motorsport at the Xbox Games Showcase. Even though it wasn’t finished, it was clear that the team at Turn 10 Studios was making something really great. Let’s look at what we can expect from Forza Motorsport when it comes out later this year.

Breathtaking Visual Fidelity

As soon as the demo starts, Forza Motorsport’s graphics are fully displayed in every aspect of the game. Car models with great attention to detail shine with raindrops in lifelike settings. Stunning lighting and ray-traced shadows make each car look more realistic than ever before. Forza has always been a great way to show off Xbox‘s visual power, but the new graphics engine in Forza Motorsport takes things even further. Forza Motorsport wants to be one of the best-looking racing games ever made by aiming for 4K resolution at 60 FPS and full ray tracing support.

But Forza isn’t just pretty to look at. Under the hood, Turn 10 made a brand-new physics engine that works with the Xbox Series X/S hardware. Every lap is a new task with time of day, weather, and track conditions that can change at any time. With an improved tire model with eight times more detail, you can feel the tiny differences between each car as you push it to its limit.

To put your skills to the test, AI drivers have been given the ability to use machine learning. This means they can watch how you drive and copy the best players. The team behind Forza Motorsport claims it is raising the bar for racing games in general with its amazing physics and smart opponents, and from the looks of things, the boasts are justified.

Fine-Tune Your Dream Car

The customization tools in Forza have always been a big part of the game, and the new Forza Motorsport makes them even better. With a fully redesigned tuning system, you can change everything about your car, from the brake pads to the intake manifolds. The new visual upgrade system gives you more control than ever over how your cars look, from their paint colors to the body kits they have and everything in between. In Forza Motorsport, every car you drive is a blank slate.

When you’re done changing your dream car, it’s time to take it to the race. At launch, Forza Motorsport has more than 20 places, including real-world tracks like Maple Valley and Laguna Seca. As you practice, qualify, and race against other skilled drivers, a new “race weekend” format adds new levels of strategy. Forza Link keeps you in touch with your friends and the rest of the Forza group worldwide. As the first Motorsport entry in years, Forza Motorsport gives racing fun for everyone, from casual gamers to serious esports players, with a huge number of game modes and difficulty levels.

Forza Motorsport is ready to retake the racing crown when it comes out later this year. It has beautiful graphics, a crazy amount of customization options, and very, very smooth gameplay. Turn 10 is taking the well-known franchise into the next age by building on its 20 years of history. When Forza Motorsport comes out, drivers on Xbox and PC will have a lot to look forward to.
